Time Enough To Leave You

There's time enough to leave you in the morning.

Streets seem somehow friendlier by day.

It's not like I was leaving and you'd never got a warning.

It's not like you were begging me to stay.

There always will be riddles with no answers.

Always, there'll be dreams that won't come true.

We ended up as fencers though we started out as dancers

And now, I'm telling what I learned from you.

I don't need to have your love to go on living.

I am not going to pine away from your neglect.

There ain't a single thing you did

I should be cursing or forgiving.

You've got your pride and I, my self respect.

If I have to I can live my life without you.

What does it matter that I'd really rather not.

I guess I'll never get to learn the things

I didn't know about you.

But I need me and I'm someone I've got.

Oh, Lover, Would You Stay By Me?
