On The Other Side Of A Dream
Think about a knight upon a charger
Riding down a road by the edge of a stream.
I wonder if the world keeps growing larger
On the other side of a dream.
Maybe there's a place where hate is gone, now,
Far beyond the cold grasp of lost yesterdays.
Trees instead of crosses on the lawn, now,
Waiting at the end of our ways.
Sometimes, when I've been thinking
Too long of people and roads behind me,
I hear a voice far back in my head,
"Don't worry. Everyone that goes, goes blindly."
Why can't I have fun without a reason?
Time enough to be a man when summer is gone.
Memories won't run so warmly when the season
Changes and the winter's coming on.
Why can't we just sit and wait for nothing
By the sea and building castles on the beach
Laughing while the day's deciding what to bring us
Is it just a dream that's out of reach?
Sometimes, when I've been thinking
Too long of people and roads behind me,
I hear a voice far back in my head,
"Don't worry. Everyone that goes, goes blindly."
Think about a knight upon a charger
Riding down a road by the edge of a stream.
I wonder if the world keeps growing larger
On the
other side of a dream.
