Robert Klimes, Master of Music, continues to astonish us with his wit, warmth and humor. I first met Bob when I was studying music theory in one of his classes at LA Valley College in 1970. I was struck the first day with Bob's incredible talent for teaching, and the gentle strength with which he guided us. By the first break that day, Bob was showing me some lead sheets, and over the ensuing few years, I co-wrote seven of my best songs with him. Bob's prior classes had included some very high powered and successful musicians, and I still feel deeply honored to have worked with him.

I note that every other person I've ever known who was privileged to study under Bob continues to hold him in the highest regard, with the possible exception of one or two certifiable lunatics, in whose number I might well have been included if not for Bob's understanding and his genuine gift for touching those for whose education and betterment he has taken responsibility.

Writing lyrics to Bob's incredible music, and the lapidary skill with which he crafted every note and phrase, was probably the most intensely formative experience of my intellectual and artistic life, and continues to serve me well to this day. Bob's students hold him in the highest esteem, and continue to derive immense benefit from the extraordinary talent which he so freely shares amongst all who come to him. Bob also writes a hell of a recommendation.
